[glow=red,2,300]Transmission took place on Stardate 62060.3[/glow] Therisus Kaltain: He sat down at the comm. of his office on Deep Space 5 and decided it was time to contact an old friend to see how she was doing.
Duanna Willinie: She heard the personal comm. of the quarters she shared with Asano and answered it. “This is Duanna speaking is there something I can help you with?”
Therisus Kaltain: “Yes, yes there is Duanna; its Therisus…I wanted to see how you were doing. It’s been a while.” He didn’t know what else to say to her as this was the first time he had seen her since a few years ago when they were in the academy together.
Duanna Willinie: “Therisus, this is a surprise. I thought you were stationed on Deep Space 5. Don’t tell me it got boring there far too soon and you got transferred already.” She laughed a little, “I’m doing fine as is my companion Asano. I’m right now between assignments myself.”
Therisus Kaltain: “That’s wonderful to hear. That you are happy…I just wanted to let you know that I am stationed to Bradbury and I will be there for some times. The Deep Space 5 assignment was kind of their way of saying to meet a shuttle there to go to the area.”
Duanna Willinie: “That’s wonderful to hear. I hear the project has the Federation very much proud of what can be done in the field of peace. I will look forward to your letters…if you can send them. I’ll try and get Asano to make an appearance for you. After all, you’re practically family. Especially with the way you treated me in the academy…Who would have thought a Marine and a Naval person getting along so well.”
Therisus Kaltain: “It’s just a shame we didn’t meet on the home world. Would have saved you a lot of pain in the long run, but I am happy your alone time is over with and you have found a companion to spend time with. Just don’t rush into things and give him time to understand our ways.”
Duanna Willinie: “Yes, yes I will. I’m sure he’ll tell me if I am going too fast for him. Just take care of yourself out there alright?”
Therisus Kaltain: “You do the same little sister…perhaps we’ll see each other soon.” He smiled at her.
Duanna Willinie: “Never know about us military types what will be up to next. Take care big brother and send word when you find happiness in a companion.”
Therisus Kaltain: “I will, and I’m sure my family will be thrilled when and if that day comes.”
Duanna Willinie: “Be yourself and it will come to you. I promise.”
Therisus Kaltain: “I know.” He smiled one last time before terminating the link up. [glow=red,2,300]End Transmission[/glow]

Stardate 62-68.6
He walked into the quarters that were temperarly assigned to him on the starbase that the USS Bradbury is stationed at currently under repairs or perhaps a re-fit. Either the case the crew wasn't quite ready to be on board yet, or so was his understanding and so he made himself at home on the station.
He loved stations because of how much space there was to rome around and also the fixed loaction made it easyer on him as he was one of the very few who still got space sick from time to time. Well, that's what he did on his last ship assignment anyway. Just out of the accadmy as green as green can get and he got aissnged to a battle curzer.
Those were the days when he was Cadet and the Captain pritty much made it a point to avoid him as he was known for being a bit to intuative. His post wasn't challanging on that ship but he made the best of it as assistant to the science officer on board. His space sickness gave the science officer ample time to re-discover what it must have been like for the first space traviling crews through his exsperances. What some people's hobbies were puzzled him.
He shook his head at the memory and laughted. Now he traveled with the medication to combat the space sickness that he fought as a cadet. He knew from that exsperance that scinece wasn't his true calling. That, and the consant self analzes he kept while exsperanceing space sickness was enough for him to figure out that he truely enjoyed and took pleasure in hearing others air out their issues, and perhaps in someway helping them see a solution.
Sometimes that's all people needed to solve their issues. An objective third party, who could empathize with their struggle enough to try and help them develop a solution. That ship assignment also taught him the value of team work and bonding with your peers. He figure out real quickly how depenant each department on a starship was on the others. How the mind medical and physical medical had to collaberate to keep the crew togeather in times of high stress and in times of personal sturggle.
He smiled at that thought taking off his duty jacket he streached out on the bed that was provided and put his arms behind his head. He was enjoying the nestalsha he was having and re-visiting some of the lessions he learned already. He was also revisiting some of the things he use to do with his friend Duanna that was far away from him now. Eventually though his mind winded down and he fell asleep. He needed that, so badly after hardly sleeping the past few days.

After the reception in the mess for the officers of the Bradbury Therisus retired to his quarters with Duanna still quietly following him. He wasn’t even aware she was following him because of how sick he was. This was a difficult time in his life to be away from home. He didn’t show it while around other people but he was not well nor had he been for few months.
Entering his quarters he took off the dress uniform jacket and laid it somewhere safe before sitting down on the couch and rubbing his hands on his face. He didn’t understand why after all this time he was still not feeling like himself. Duanna saw the look on his face and knew the trouble that he was in. She reached into her bag and got a hormone shot pressing it to his neck she injected the hormones into his system. They were balanced for him.
He swatted at her to get the hypo away and then heard the hiss of it on his neck. The next thing he knew he was collapsed into the back of the couch painting for breath as if he had been holding it for a long while and not known it.
“What’s going on Duanna?”
She put a hand on his shoulder to calm him down enough so he wouldn’t move on her and then she spoke to him the way their people communicated with each other.
~ You are feeling the call to go home. To find your mate and to leave your life behind you, but that cannot be. You are meant to be amongst the stars just like me. Until you find your mate you must stay on the hormone shots so to do your job properly. ~
He shook his head back and forth.
“No, I will not be like this. Not for the rest of my life. I am just not well right now.”
~You are not well because you are far from home and your people. You must stay on these shots or you will drown in your own sorrow. ~
“Fine, leave the medication here. I’ll have to talk to the doctor on board to get them into the system for me.”
She gently moved her arm to support him around the small of his back and to help him rise from the couch. She knew if he stayed he would fall asleep there. She could tell he was fighting his body’s need to rest now that its struggle was over.
~Let me take care of you then through the night to make sure you are going to be ok.~
He allowed her to assist even though every muscle and fiber of his being just wanted to let go of the conscious world and sleep.
~As long as you promise…not to get stuck here I will accept your help. ~
~I won’t I promise, Asano means too much for me to leave him like that even for family. ~
He laughed and lay out on the bed too weak to really do much more supporting of himself. The struggle of the last few weeks to stay in balance tired him and now that his body was relaxed again he was feeling the effects of the struggle.
~Now rest Therisus I will be gone by morning I prom’s.~
She was gentle in her movements making sure to not move him unless it was nessarly. She saw his eyes close and heard him softly snore as she got him comfortable for bed. She then wrapped the blankets of his bed around him and shut the light out going into the other room and placing his dress slacks with his dress jacket and other things. She knew in the morning he would find them and put them away, but for now on the chair is where they would be. She quietly exited his quarters to leave on the shuttle that took her to the station in the first place leaving a note on the top of his dress uniform her good bye of sorts to him.
He felt her soft movements and heard her walk around his quarters for a few moments before the conscious world around him fade and he fell asleep. The shot was doing its job and he was beginning to be himself again.

He woke up on his own in his quarters. Not having set any alarms or anything else for himself to remind him that he needed to get up. He did is normal morning stretch before the headache hit him. He winced involuntarily at the sudden jolt of pain running through his head. He could have sworn someone just jabbed him in the head with a knife. All that came to his mind was owe so he rubbed his hand over his face to see if that helped any. The thought that went through his mind now was that of half sarcasm half seriousness about having to see the doctor about more than one thing when he got around to moving.
Right now he was content to lay in bed wearing his PJs and staring up at the ceiling somehow trying to recall the events of last night. They were still a haze to him as he seemed to be waking up out of a fog of sorts. The shot he did remember for he rubbed his neck where it was administered. He also remembered growling a few times in his sleep irritated at himself for not thinking of such a thing sooner. But sometimes as it has it the professional in him, when to close to a case, got left in the wayside of what he was feeling at the time.
Eventually though he stretched out again and his mind seamed to block the pain or it went away for now he could smile without his head pounding at him. That was a sign that he needed to get up and attack the day. Jumping into the shower he got himself ready to return to duty. Once he was dry and everything was in place he decided to figure out something to eat. Dry toast and some coffee sounded good. He ordered from the replicator in his room the coffee and toast not wanting to grace Ten Forward with is rather half awake half still trying to remember what happened to him last night mind frame. He ate the toast and was causally sipping on his coffee when he went to go find his dress uniform to put it away. He always had the habit of when he was half out of it to leave his things somewhere, folded neatly, and normally not put them back. Sure enough he found them on the chair where he left the jacket at the night before but he didn’t remember putting the pants there. There was something else there too he picked up the padd and began to read it.
Big brother,
Thought I would leave you a quick good bye and see you next time note to let you know that I was here. I know that you have a lot to adjust to not only with the new assignment but with the new medication you have to be on in order to survive amongst the stars. I know you are homesick but that will pass along with your feelings of loneliness the more that you are on the median. You can always send me a text via subspace to let me know how you are doing and to just generally share thoughts with. I will always be there for you no matter how far apart we are. Know that I love you and that I will miss you until we are able to be together again like family should be.
Little Sister
P.S. I was the one to move your pants. He laughed and put the padd down. It was kind of funny how she knew him so well after all these years together. He put the coffee down with the padd and went about putting his dress uniform back up in the hanging closet where he always kept it. Once he was sure it was going to stay in there he came back to the coffee finished it and recycled both the padd and the coffee cup. Satisfied he left his quarters to go back to the assignment and job that he truly liked going to. [/i]
