My name is Ambassador HuMaxx2.0. I am an android and have served starfleet since 2270. My history is a leangthy one.
I have been a Commander in starfleet, and an executive officer on a starship.
Recently, I have been granted an ambassadorship and a new mission.
Recently, A covert Starfleet task force was involved in an incident near the great galactic barrier. During the course of their mission, a "Black Box" was found near the barrier.
The data contained was information concerning a Starfleet mission that took place in the early 23rd century.
When the USS Valiant was lost in the barrier during one of Starfleet's first long range deep space mission. SOme time later, another ship was launched to find out what happened to her. It was the USS Icarus, Daedalus class, NCC 227.
According to information we recently exptrapolated from the Black box, The Icarus did, in fact, make it through the barrier. They also suffered great damage in doing so.
The crew managed to repair the warp drive to some extent, and if this data is correct, they found an uninhabited class M planet in a stray star system and settled there, since the ship would not survive a return trip back through the barrier.
Starfleet had no ship to spare for this mission, so I told them I'd build my own. I happened upon the USS Bradbury, a Ship that had been primarily a test bed for experimental propulsion systems. She was also designed to be an advanced science vessel, not a Warship.
I discovered that the design of the Bradbury, as well as the type of sheild plating and circuitry insulation she had, was the ideal ship for this mission. She was designed to be able to study stellar phenomena at close range and be resistent to many types of radiation and energy surges.
I enlisted the help of my good friend and engineer Amir Khambatti. Once we took all of the experimental systems out of the engines, we found that we had a good solid ship to work with. She is a good ship, ahead of her time, and will serve us well for this mission.
We will be going through the great barrier to find this lost human colony, long isolated from Earth and the Federation. They are our people, and we must do what we can to find them, and perhaps bring them home if they so choose.
Now I must compile a crew. I am looking for a diverse crew representing many races of the Federation. We have learned that there are a great many more "Rogue" or stray star systems outside the barrier than had been surmised. We will be introducing ourselves to an entirely new Galactic community. Species and civilizatons we have no knowledge of.
We truly are sailing onto the great unknown, knowing not what to expect.
We must find these people. We are Starfleet, and Starfleet comes back for her own.
I ask you to join me. To share in this brave new adventure. The danger is great, but the rewards may well be far greater.
Who will sacrifice on behalf of those who have sacrificed so much, so long ago?
